It needed a mathematician to work out which three teams would progress from women's Championship 2 to Division 1 at the start of next season!
The champions were not in doubt after a weekend of games at Northampton School for Boys - Liverpool Liver Birds saw off all their rivals with victories over Manchester Comets (31-2), Southampton (8-4) and Devonport Royal (12-3).

But the other sides in the promotion challenge all finished on two points after Comets beat Devonport 8-7 with a last minute goal by Maisy Clapperton and Southampton defeated the Comets 7-6.
Determining which two teams would be promoted alongside Liverpool then depended on creating a mini table based on matches between Devonport, Manchester and Southampton. Unlucky Southampton missed out with an interior goal difference of just two!
In the women's Super 5s, Liverpool Lizards edged closer to another title with an 11-7 victory over Coventry, including two goals each for Kate Hesketh, Hazel Musgrove and Beth Bolton. Otter's 12-4 defeat of Caledonia included five goals by Lex Higlett.
