BWPL President Pippa Jones today presented trophies and medals to women's champions Liverpool Lizards (Super 5s) and Leeds Sharks (Championship 1).
Liverpool defeated City of Manchester 12-2 in their final game, which meant they completed a second consecutive season with a splendid 100 per cent record.
League chairman David Andrews also received the men's Championship 2 trophy and medals on behalf of his club, Sutton & Cheam. Sutton's players departed the final weekend of competition at Watford last week convinced their title chances had long gone. However, a remarkable sequence of results in other matches ensured in the end that they clinched top spot.
