Promoted Caledonia rounded off a perfect opening weekend of the men's Division 1 campaign with a 5-3 victory over Invicta at Ponds Forge today.
The Scots had beaten Bristol Central 14-7 on day one. Invicta provided much stiffer opposition, but eventually Caledonia took the points with goals by Alasdair Campbell (3), Mark Speed and Chris Campbell.
There were close matches in Division 2. Penguin held off a late rally by Worthing to win 9-8; and Polytechnic beat Welsh Wanderers 11-9, controlling much of the game after winning the second period 4-1.
