Goals by Logan Shepherd and twins Chris and Darren Campbell gave the Scots a tremendous start. But Manchester, despite missing several chances, recovered to lead 5-4 after three periods - and then 7-5, before Caledonia claimed another goal right at the end.
Cheltenham led Lancaster virtually throughout their Super 5s clash, eventually winning 14-12, including four goals each for Rob Parker and Albert Tarres. Tom Curwen (4), Ed Grundy (3) and Glen Robinson (3) were the main Lancaster marksmen.
