Star players from the British League's champion clubs, City of Manchester (men) and Otter (women), will be putting in a bit of overtime when the Super 5s campaign begins at Sunderland Aquatic Centre on 15/16 November.
The players have agreed to help run mini sessions on the Sunday morning aimed at inspiring local youngsters to take up the sport.
Sunderland Councillor John Kelly welcomes the development of the Aquatic Centre as "a major international and national venue for water polo." He adds: "The success of events staged here last year by LEN in partnership with British Swimming impressed everyone. Attracting the British League Super 5s is another sporting coup for our city and I hope people will turn out in their thousands to support what is a free event."
