Bristol were close to taking both points. Briefly, they led 12-11 in the final period only for Rory Inman to claim his fourth goal for Hawks from a man-up with just 36 seconds remaining. Nathan Brown scored four for Bristol.
Hucknall were too strong for Cheltenham Spartans, winning 17-2, including hat-tricks for Matt Brown, Nic Rimlinger and Matt Smith. Later, Sam Joyce's six goals proved crucial in another Hucknall win - 10-7 against Worthing.
Ben Scott nettted six in the final period as Portobello beat Cheltenham Spartans 21-19.
