Four more juniors pushing hard for Spartans selection were absent due to training with the ’05 England squad.
Cheltenham’s James Ross says: “All juniors across the league have benefited from less time out of the pool compared to over 18s and I think this shows across all clubs in fitness levels. At Cheltenham, we have been lucky to have access to the Lido which enabled us to return to full team training quicker than many clubs - we also had a very full programme of land training during the lockdown periods.”
Spartans were the only team to win twice during the opening weekend of Division 3 matches.
