Otter's 11-9 victory over York City in the breakfast-time game at Watford today ended York's hopes of progressing to Championship 2 - and left Exeter to qualify alongside Watford, Birmingham, Southampton and Hucknall.
Otter held a narrow lead for much of the match, with Mate Nyaka (4) and Denes Csizsinszky (3) their leading scorers. Ben Pacey netted six for York.
Later, Exeter completed a convincing 18-9 victory over Birmingham. Watford defeated Southampton 16-9, including six goals from Andy Holt, and finished top of Division 3 with a perfect record from seven matches.
