Congratulations to former British League official Frank Ohme, who has been named as one of the referees appointed to the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
Frank refereed regularly in the BWPL during his time in Wales as a lecturer in astro-physics at Cardiff University. He then returned to his native Germany, where he leads an independent research group at Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics.
Frank will have fond memories not so long ago of reffing BWPL matches at venues such as Walsall – ideal preparation no doubt for a career that has included the men's World League, the Champions League and the FINA World Championships in Budapest, where he was appointed to a number of top games!
