Cheltenham and City of Manchester effectively secured their passages to the men’s Super 5s with further wins today.
The remaining places will be fought over when the Division 1 finale takes place at Coventry on 27/28 November – with none of the remaining six teams completely out of contention.
It was another routine day for Manchester at Matlock, where Dan Paddon scored five in a 13-3 defeat of Solihull. Cheltenham beat Welsh Wanderers 14-6 at Aldershot.
Closest game of the day saw Invicta defeat Polytechnic 11-9. Early in the final period, Invicta led 10-6. Poly then rallied with goals by Sergio Schiaffino, Nick Hock and Pedro Stellet before Callum Bailey’s third goal eased Invicta’s nerves 1.13 from the end.
