Brian Littlejohn (pictured), whose 20 years as an international referee included both the Beijing and London Olympics, has announced his retirement from the sport.
BWPL chairman David Andrews paid this tribute today: "BL has been the outstanding referee both for the former men's National League and the British League over the past two decades and his contribution to the League and water polo as a whole cannot be underestimated.
"On behalf of the League, its members, both past and present, we wish Brian and Charlotte all the best for the future."
