The death occurred yesterday of Jack Jones, one of Great Britain's greatest Olympians and a driving force for many years behind the success of his home club, Cheltenham.
Jack, who was 90, played for the Great Britain water polo team in the 1948, 1952 and 1956 Olympics - the last time as captain.
His brother is Philip Jones, a former Great Britain international and the founder General Secretary in 1962 of the former men's National League. Like Jack and Philip, another brother, the late Frank Jones, was associated with the Cheltenham club for many years.
