It means further alterations to the structure of the League at the start of the 2015/16 season. Manchester Hawks take Carlisle's place in Division Two; Watford go up to Division Three; and Grantham to Division Four.
The League had already made adjustments following the decision of Super 5s club Portobello to drop out. But the overall strength of the men's competition remains. Although Portobello, 2nd City Birmingham and now Carlisle have gone, Division Five will feature two new clubs in September - City of Leeds, Tyldesley - as well as welcoming a Portobello development side.
