Caledonia won for the third time in the opening weekend of women's Championship 1 action at Walsall. Opponents Manchester Comets were ahead for much of the game - 4-0, 7-4 and then 9-8 with three and a half minutes remaining. But Caledonia produced the stronger finish, going clear at 11-9 thanks to late goals by Hannah Edwards and Gael Logan.
Sheffield Sharks were far too strong for Otter Lutra, amassing eight goals without reply by the start of the second period. Eventually, they won 18-7, including four goals by Victoria Bowen.
A last minute goal by Millie Boucher clinched Welsh Wanderers' 6-5 victory over Liverpool Liver Birds. Like the Wanderers, Hucknall picked up their first win - 11-4 against Penguin Emperors.
Later, Welsh Wanderers won again - 8-6 against Otter Lutra - with late goals by Milly Wordley and Nia Sanders. Sheffield drew level on points with Caledoniaby completing a hat-trick of victories - 15-5 against Liverpool Liver Birds.
