Birmingham survived a last-ditch rally by Ealing to claim their second victory of the season in men's Division 3 at Grantham.

A Matt Masters goal one a half minutes from the end put the Midlanders 8-5 up only for Ealing to respond twice through Sam Roberts in the last 37 seconds, making the final score 8-7.

Watford completed the weekend with three convincing victories, rounding off by defeating Hucknall 16-7, including four goals by Andy Holt (Picture - Trevor Hyde).

In Division 4 at Marlborough College, sharp shooting by Dennis Bormann, who finished with six goals, put Bridgefield 8-5 ahead against Grantham Knights. But that wasn't enough. Grantham stormed back in the final period, winning 11-10 with goals by Jack Shennan (2), Will Betts, John Faben, Ben Caulfield and John Whatley.

There was another dramatic turn-around in the Invicta Marlins-York City clash. Invicta raced into a 4-0 lead in the first period, but were pegged back to 4-3 after two, then 5-5 after three. York then edged the final quarter to win 8-6 with goals by Nick Boaz - his fourth of the game - Ben Pacey and George Mack.

Cheltenham Spartans joined Portobello and Otter on seven points at the top of the table with a whopping 34-5 hammering of bottom team Bedford.
