Among the women, there are three completely new entries – Durham Palatinates, St Andrew’s University (Scotland) and Solihull. They will take part in a qualifier at Northampton, 28/29 March, together with Sunderland (aiming to re-enter after missing out in last year’s qualifying tournament).
The men’s qualifier takes place at Walsall on 4/5 April. Sedgefield, from the North-East, are the only complete newcomer to BWPL competition. They join two teams with plenty of national league experience in the past, Grantham and Warley. Chelmsford, who would also have been involved as one of the bottom three in Division 5, have withdrawn from the League.
