Wanderers, the first Welsh team to take on European competition since Maindee Olympic in the 1980s, went down in their final matches – 26-11 to GZC Donk, of the Netherlands, and 25-6 to Vitoria Sport Clube, of Portugal.
“It was a steep learning curve and hopefully we will be able to take the experience into our next BWPL weekend in Coventry,” added Davies. “I am really proud of the team and we never gave up. We lost Mathew Griffiths and Joe Jenkins-Delf to illness before today’s game, so we were really up against it.”
