Sarah Snyder scored six as they began with a 16-5 victory over Penguin Emperors. Later, they were too strong for Watford, winning 19-6, including another five Snyder strikes and six from Rebecca Mulcahy.
Consolation for Watford later on was a 15-9 win against a youthful Coventry team, Laura Page leading the way with six goals.
Kirkintilloch & Kilsyth raced into a 9-3 lead in the first quarter against Tyldesley and eventually won 15-9.
Exeter claimed a 10-9 win over Worthing. The Devon team led 10-7 after three periods, including four goals from Josephine Lamont-Tuckett; Worthing rallied in the last two minutes, scoring through Rebecca Smith and Lillie-Rose Standen.
The division’s first penalty shoot-out occurred at the end of day one, Penguin Emperors beating Coventry 19-17 after the teams finished regular time at 15-15.
