Neil was a giant and a legend of the sport and in particular within his beloved Poly. His long playing career saw him become one of the greatest British keepers, winning the first of his many GB caps in 1958. He went on to play and captain Poly from the inception of the League in 1962. Universally and affectionately known as “Mother” he was respected throughout the sport.
Beyond and after his playing career he showed a huge commitment to the administration and development of Poly including the arranging and organising of high profile events. He remained a devoted Poly supporter for many years after his retirement from playing, attending the BWPL finals event in 2023 where the club regained the title after a break of 28 years.
Rest in Peace Mother.
