There was no shortage of last minute drama on the second day of men’s Division 3 action at Chelmsford – three of the five matches resulted in single-goal victories!
Southampton left it late to maintain their unbeaten record at the top of the table with a 13-12 win against Hucknall, who led 10-6 in the third period when Peppe Valentino scored his sixth goal. Bridgefield won 11-10 against Otter – but only after being given a real scare by the London side. At one stage, Bridgefield were cruising with a 9-2 lead, but Otter were back to 11-6 in the final period and then scored quick goals in the last three minutes by Orion Ganase (2), Andrei Patemkin and Sasha Smeulders.
Bridgefield were out of luck in their earlier game, losing 13-12 to Rotherham Metro – Rotherham’s first success.
